Antique Oriental Rug Covered Ottomans 

I have been eagerly awaiting our two antique rug ottomans since we returned from Market. We first learned of these one-of-a-kind beauties at market a year ago. 

 

They are high quality Lee ottoman hardwood frames upholstered with the best section reclaimed from damaged antique rugs. These are amazing hand woven wool rugs with beautiful colors and patterns that are given a new purpose and a new life. Recycling in it's finest form. So why did it take us a year to get our hands on just two benches?  Because they are rare and HIGHLY sought after..... and as it turns out, they never make it to the Market showroom. 

 

This past Spring Market we arrived early to claim one only to learn they were all again already spoken for. How is everyone getting their hands on these benches but us??  After buying our rep a cup of coffee and drilling him with questions, we finally learned that these ottomans are claimed right off the back of the truck when it arrives directly from the manufacturers floor.  So the following Market, we got up even earlier and gathered on the loading dock with a sizeable crowd of eager shop owners and designers all shuffling somewhat politely to get the best vantage point.  Finally the truck arrived and the doors flung open. A smiling delivery boy would bring out each ottoman, one by one to the end of the truck bed and before you even had time to think if you liked the design of that particular bench someone would yell out their store name.  One by one benches were getting picked off like prize cows at a cattle auction. We quickly learned that you sometimes had to claim one based on the side view alone and hope the front was just as amazing. I can say with pride that when I claimed our two benches a groan went up in the crowd because they knew we had snagged some good ones.  Pictures will not do these gems justice. So come in and look at these for yourself before the only two in Indy are spoken for.
